A Deeper Look Into Vocational Rehabilitation Services
What to Expect

This service includes the following:

Brief 15 minute consultation

Independent or counselor administered vocational assessment

45 minute interpretation and next steps session

Process will begin with a brief 15 minute consultation to discuss individual goals for career exploration through vocational assessment as well as any type of accommodations. Based on information, counselors will pick out the best career exploration inventory catered to needs and ability level of the client.

Based on needs, counselor can offer independent test administration or supported test administration with counselor present.

Once assessment is complete, counselor will schedule a 45 minute follow up session for test interpretation. Once results are interpreted, counselor will discuss results, define potential careers, and provide suggestions about of next steps

Client can sign up for vocational counseling to build on consultation suggestions.

All vocational assessments are provided in an online format and client will need access to a computer.

Counselor will charge and additional $25 for if test must be administered with counselor present
02.

This service provides vocational/career counseling pertaining to help individuals explore and find suitable career paths. Counseling may consist of discussions involving career development, anxiety surrounding work related concerns, vocational training or post secondary exploration, career adjustment issues, career changes, and the sharing of additional resources. The counselor will determine and discuss aptitude, interest, barriers, and potential limitations. The counselor will assist clients in evaluating potential career options and help clients develop plans for employment goals.

First session will be a 45 minute intake session combined with development of potential goals for vocational/career counseling. Additional sessions will be an hour and will be used to work towards vocational/career goal. Client must continue to pay for each additional session afterwards

Counselor may recommend client go through career exploration vocational assessment service if the client does not already have a career goal.
03.
Service includes a 30 minute resume planning consultation where counselor will gather information about the client's resume and cover letter needs. Also, counselor will review current resume (if applicable) and give tips to clients regarding creating resumes and cover letters.

After consultation, counselor will create or update resume. Within one week of consultation, client will receive their own personal resume and cover letter.

Clients must ensure to have all necessary information such as previous job titles, previous job duties, accurate contact information, education attainment information, and any other skills information prior to consultation. Client will receive form to input information prior to consultation
04.

This service is for those who would like a complete and comprehensive evaluation of their vocational potential to gain more understanding about ones’ employability and earning potential outlook. This service consists of extensive assessments and interviews that could span 3-4 hours.

All evaluations are conducted virtually unless otherwise specified.

These evaluations are primarily used to determine eligibility for disability services and benefits.

During this process, a vocational rehabilitation counselor conducts a comprehensive evaluation. This form of evaluation is used for formal applications. Evaluation can be completed with social security disability determinations and earning capacities/wage-loss applied in civil proceedings and can include:

Assist clients with exploring, understanding, locating, and applying for different vocational or post secondary opportunities. Service will start by getting to know the client's vocational/post secondary interest and goal for sessions. After intake session, counselor will research and come back with compiled list of potential options. Sessions will include discussions on potential vocational/post secondary exploration, programming, learning styles, and next steps. Additionally, counselor may discuss self-advocacy and need for accommodations if the client has a disability. Lastly, the client can receive assistance with filling out applications and an essay review for an additional fee.

This process consist of 4 sessions ranging in different times:
Session 1: Intake session & Learning Styles Self Assessment/Interpretation (1 hour)
Session 2: Vocational/Post Secondary Exploration and Discussion (45 minutes)
Session 3: Final Selection, self-advocacy, accommodations (30 minutes)
Session 4: Next Steps, Financial Aid Resources Discussion, & Documentation Requirements (30 minutes)
Session 5: Application Assistance for program and/or FAFSA (optional add on; extra $25 for every hour)
Session 6: Application Essay Review (optional add on; extra $25 per essay)

For any additional assistance clients can sign up for 1 hour vocational/career counseling sessions at $50 per session.​​
